There are few things more exciting than getting to witness—and photograph—the exact moment someone says “yes” to forever. When Jin reached out to me a month in advance about proposing to his girlfriend, Kelly, in Nashville, I knew it was going to be special.

We spent time planning different location options for the proposal, but when we saw rain in the forecast the day before, we pivoted. Jin and I decided that the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center would be the perfect spot. Not only does it offer beautiful, lush gardens and incredible architecture indoors, but it also gave us the peace of mind of staying dry while still having a gorgeous backdrop for such a big moment.

The Surprise Proposal

The moment finally arrived. Jin led Kelly through the winding paths of Opryland’s stunning atrium, where he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Her reaction was priceless—completely surprised, full of joy, and everything a proposal photographer hopes to capture.

Documenting that raw emotion—the laughter, the tears, the hugs—was such an honor. There’s something magical about capturing love in real time, and this was one of those unforgettable moments.

After Kelly said “yes,” we celebrated with an engagement session around the resort. From the tropical greenery to the iconic fountains and bridges, Opryland is like a hidden world tucked away inside Nashville. Kelly and Jin were still glowing with excitement, which made every photo effortless and full of natural joy.

We explored the gardens, the grand walkways, and cozy corners of the resort. Every location felt like a perfect stage for their story—romantic, vibrant, and timeless.
