Behind the Scenes: Picture Perfect While Getting Ready!

Attention: Nashville, Atlanta, and really ALL brides-to-be! When it comes to your wedding photos, there's no doubt you've thought about the stunning portraits, the tear-jerking ceremony, and the romantic first dances. But what about the getting ready shots? With a little bit of planning, they can be just as dreamy and absolutely stunning. Let’s get ready to get ready!

  1. Find a Big Space with Great Lighting

The key to great getting ready shots is finding a space with plenty of natural light. Whether you're renting out a luxurious salon, a swanky hotel suite, or a chic Airbnb, look for large windows that provide soft, natural light. This lighting will make your skin look amazing and give your photos a soft, romantic feel.

2. Keep It Clean

When you and your crew arrive to get ready, make sure to stash your bags in a corner and keep the space tidy for cleaner, more attractive photos. A clean space will also help the natural light bounce around the room, making for even more gorgeous photos.

3. Its’ in The Details

Your dress, shoes, jewelry, and invitations are all important details that tell the story of your special day. Have them ready to go before your photographer arrives. This will hlep mazimize time so they can capture all the pretty little things right at the start.

4. Extra Flowers, Please

Ask your florist to bring some extra blooms early on, so your photographer can use them in designing and photographing your details. Flowers are a great way to add color and texture to your getting ready photos.

5. Face the Light

When getting your hair and makeup done, make sure to sit facing the window light to achieve soft, natural photos. If you're facing away from the light, your face will be in the shadows, which is not the look we are going for!

6. Groom's Grooming

The Camera loves a well-groomed man, so why not have a barber come in and cut and style your groom's hair for some fun photos? It's a great way to capture the excitement and anticipation of the big day.

7. Matchy-Matchy Bridesmaids

If your bridesmaids are all dressed in matching outfits, it'll give your photos a clean, intentional studio look. Plus, they'll be super cute and cohesive! Coordinate with your bridesmaids beforehand to make sure everyone is on board with the matching outfits.

What have we learned? Don't forget about those getting ready photos! They're a great way to capture the excitement and anticipation leading up to the big day. Use these tips to make sure you’re getting ready photos are soft, dreamy, and absolutely stunning. Happy planning!
